Tomlinson, the netminder for English professional soccer club Burton Albion, works part-time as an erotic model willing to pose nude, according to his portfolio. He sometimes goes by the alias “Rupert Paddington Gomez.”
The British tabloids are having a field day with the bodybuilder athlete’s second job, and his teammates are making sport of it as well.
“I get caned by the lads about it all the time — those pictures have ruined me in the dressing room,” Tomlinson, 27, told the Daily Mail.
His portfolio at modelmayhem.com shows Tomlinson au naturel in the shower and strategically placed behind a bale of hay. But he also has done more mainstream gigs as a fitness model, including a recent cover shoot for Men’s Health.
The Sun described some of Tomlinson’s work thusly: “Photos of him flexing his oiled-up muscles while wearing the tiniest budgie smugglers known to man.”
Tomlinson’s ripped physique does more than look good, though. With him in the net, Burton Albion won 10 of 11 games before Tomlinson hurt his knee in October, the Sun noted. He’s due back on the pitch this month.
In his time off, we hope the lad hasn’t been over-indulging in his favorite cheese: mozzarella, according to the website of his rep.
Athletes stateside who have recently taken it off — mostly in a peek-a-boo vein — include MMA fighter Ronda Rousey, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, U.S. women’s soccer goalkeeper Hope Solo, and the New York Knicks’ Tyson Chandler, according to Bleacher Report.
But not many jocks have carved out a part-time modeling career like Tomlinson. He told the tabs it’s good money for just a few hours of work.
